CSF engineered the 992 Carrera intercooler as a true plug-and-play, drop-in upgrade. It utilizes all factory mounting points, making installation straightforward with no modifications required. The system is designed to work seamlessly with OEM hardware, ducts, and shrouds for a clean, factory-style fit.

At the core of this system is CSF’s partnership with PWR, bringing Formula 1–grade intercooler core technology to the 992 Carrera. These advanced cores are the same design used in CSF’s high-performance applications for the 992 Turbo/S and 991 GT2 RS, delivering proven results. Compared to traditional bar-and-plate or tube-and-fin designs, PWR cores provide significantly improved heat transfer while maintaining a more compact and lightweight form factor. The result is superior cooling efficiency without the need for oversized intercoolers.

The factory 3.0L twin-turbo engine in the 992 Carrera is prone to heat soak, even under moderate driving conditions. As intake air temperatures rise, the ECU reduces timing, which limits power output. CSF’s intercooler system effectively combats heat soak, keeping intake air temperatures lower and more stable. This allows the engine to maintain consistent performance, even during extended spirited driving.

Built to handle increased performance demands, the intercoolers feature 100% TIG-welded, CNC-machined billet aluminum end tanks. This is a substantial upgrade over the factory crimped plastic composite tanks, which are known to weaken or crack under higher boost pressure. The billet construction ensures durability and reliability, making the system well-suited for tuned vehicles and upgraded turbocharger setups.
